José Antonio García Ares. Spanish architect. He is currently a Partner of the architecture studio Foster & Partners from the United Kingdom. His work has focused on the design of contemporary architecture and the study of historical buildings for its intervention.
His experience includes leading design teams on luxury projects in California and high-rise office developments in Manhattan. Also in projects in emblematic and historical buildings in London, New York and Madrid; educational and research institutions in Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States; hotel and resort projects in London, the Middle East, the Indian Ocean, and large complex airport infrastructures in North America.
As a researcher, he has developed several articles in the field of the history of construction and the structural behavior of historic buildings. He is a member of the Construction History Societies of Spain and the United Kingdom and of the History Study Group of the Institution of Structural Engineers of London. He has been invited to give classes at the Polytechnic Universities of Madrid and Valencia, and has been a visiting professor in the Master in Management and Architectural Design at IE University.
