Dafni Mora Guerra, PhD

Dafni Mora completed a Doctorate in Civil and Industrial Engineering at the University of Calabria in Italy, specializing in the area of Energy in Buildings. She is a Mechanical Engineer with postgraduate studies in Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a specialty in renewable energy and the environment, from Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (UTP).
She is a Full Time Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of UTP, since 2017, in the Department of Energy and Environment at the undergraduate level. She has published scientific articles and participated in national and international conferences. She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI, in its Spanish acronym), in the Category of National Researcher I, Program financed by the Panama National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (Secretaría Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, SENACYT), period 2018-2021.
She is also Director of the Research Group called “Energy and Comfort in Bioclimatic Buildings (ECEB, in its Spanish acronym)”, of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FIM) of Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (UTP) and currently directs the Goals Office, a unit attached to the Rectory of the UTP.
She was recently one of the two Panamanian scientists awarded in the first edition of the 25 Women in Science: Latin America Awards, organized by the transnational 3M.
